Thank you for your interest in the Molly Stark Inn. After almost 20 years as the owner and innkeeper, I have made the decision to cease operating and to close the doors of the business.

Why did the Inn decide to close?
When I purchased the Inn in 1988, the State of Vermont indicated that a planned roadway could one day force the business to close. Well, that day has come. The State intends to resume construction of the "Bennington Bypass" in the Spring of 2007, and the Molly Stark Inn property is in their way. At this time we do not intend to relocate the Inn.

I'd like to offer a heartfelt thank you to the thousands of interesting, kind, funny, memorable, wacky and wonderful guests and friends who have graced the Inn with their presence over the last two decades under my ownership. Each of you has inspired me to stay on the road of Innkeeping all these years; keeping me smiling the entire way. I am both humbled and grateful to have crossed paths with so many gracious and warm people in my lifetime. I close the door on the business with a dream fulfilled.

All good wishes & peace.

Sincerely,
Reed Fendler
